The Smashing Pumpkins

Back in June 2015, when The Smashing Pumpkins graced the Carnegie Music Hall of Homestead stage, they were riding high on the wave of their album "Monuments to an Elegy," which had been released just a few months earlier in December 2014. This album marked a bit of a turning point, as it was their first work to feature drummer Jack Beaudoin and was recorded with the iconic Rick Rubin at the helm. It’s also noteworthy that this period was part of the band's grand comeback, wrapping the "Oceania" tour while they explored new sonic horizons. During that live performance, fans likely felt the electric atmosphere as Billy Corgan leaned into his signature mix of grunge and melodic rock, showcasing the band's ever-evolving sound. Interestingly, "Gish Medley" harks back to their debut album from 1991, which adds a layer of nostalgia to the setlist. So, it’s a delightful interplay between their roots and their more recent musical journey, reminding everyone just how far they’ve come while holding onto their past.
