Nirvana

In August 1990, when Nirvana performed at the Hollywood Palladium, they were on the cusp of explosive fame, just a year before the release of their groundbreaking album *Nevermind* in 1991. At this point in their career, they had already released their debut album, *Bleach* (1989), which had garnered a cult following but was starkly different in tone and style from what was to come. The live recording features the song "Floyd the Barber," a track that exemplifies the raw, unpolished sound characteristic of their early work. Interestingly, during this period, Dale Crover of the Melvins joined them on drums for this soundcheck, adding a unique dynamic to their early performances. It's fascinating to think about how this moment at the Palladium was part of the journey that catapulted Nirvana from an underground band to icons of the grunge movement, shaping rock music for years to come.
