Soundgarden Live Full Concert in Enger Germany featuring Gun, Flower and more
Back in May 1989, when Soundgarden graced the stage at the Forum in Enger, Germany, they were riding high on the momentum of their innovative debut studio album, *Ultramega OK*, which had been released just a year earlier. This album, bursting with a unique blend of grunge and alternative rock, not only helped solidify their place in the burgeoning Seattle scene but also earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. An interesting tidbit about that live recording is that Hiro Yamamoto, the band's original bassist, was still with them at this time, lending his distinctive style to those early performances. It's fascinating to see how their sound evolved over the years, but in '89, they were still in the early stages of setting the foundation for a legacy that would define a genre. That gig was a snapshot of a band on the brink of greatness, channeling raw energy and innovative flair that would soon captivate the world.
