Soundgarden was riding a resurgence in their career when they performed at Monmouth University on May 14, 2013. This live set came just after the release of their sixth studio album, "King Animal," which debuted in late 2012. It was their first studio album in over 16 years, and fans were understandably thrilled to hear new material mixed with their classic hits. Speaking of interesting tidbits, the band’s reunion came after a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997 and included Chris Cornell’s exploration of various musical projects. The performance at Monmouth not only showcased their enduring sound but also highlighted their connection with fans, as they delivered a full set that reminded everyone why they were a cornerstone of grunge and alternative rock. While "Gun," a powerful track from "King Animal," wasn't included in the YouTube video due to time constraints, the set still captured the energy and passion that Soundgarden is renowned for.
