As the summer of 2014 rolled around, Soundgarden found themselves in a fascinating phase of their career. Before this live performance at the PNC Bank Arts Center, they had released their critically acclaimed album, *King Animal*, in 2012. This album marked their first studio venture after a long hiatus, and it showcased their signature blend of heavy riffs and introspective lyrics. Interestingly, this performance comes just two years before the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chris Cornell in 2017—a poignant reminder of the band's complex legacy.
