In February 2015, when Soundgarden delivered their electrifying performance of "The Day I Tried to Live" at Soundwave in Sydney, they were riding high on the success of their 2012 album, *King Animal*. This was their first album in over 15 years and marked a powerful return to form for the band, proving they still had that incredible flair. What’s fascinating is that this live set showcased the band’s signature blend of heavy riffs and contemplative lyrics, which win fans over every time. Chris Cornell's haunting vocal delivery, as heard in this recording, is a perfect example of how he can convey raw emotion. Just a few years earlier, they had returned to the scene after a long hiatus, and seeing them live, even in their older years, was a reminder of their lasting impact on the grunge and alt-rock landscapes. It’s moments like these that remind us why we fell in love with Soundgarden’s music in the first place.
