In 2022, Journey was in the midst of their Freedom Tour, which marked a significant moment in their career as they continued to tour with original members and gain new acclaim. Prior to this concert, Journey released their album *Freedom* in July 2021, which was their first studio album of new material in over a decade. This return to form not only highlighted the band’s enduring appeal but also included tracks that resonated well with both longtime fans and newer audiences. The live recording from April 1, 2022, at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, showcased classic hits such as "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Stone in Love," reflecting the band's storied history and their ability to energize live performance settings.
