Dead & Company

On June 23, 2018, Dead & Company performed at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin, capturing a live version of "Althea." By this time, the band was in the midst of a successful touring run, drawing from both the Grateful Dead's extensive catalog as well as their own unique interpretations. Prior to this concert, they released "Dead & Company: The Final Tour," a live album capturing performances throughout their then-current tour. The band, formed in 2015, features notable Grateful Dead members such as Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, alongside younger musicians like John Mayer, who has brought a fresh dynamic to the group. This performance at Alpine Valley was one of several summer shows that year, promoting a blend of nostalgia and innovation that characterizes their sound, affirming their continued relevance in the jam band scene.
