The Promise Ring

The Promise Ring, a key player in the emo and indie rock scenes of the late '90s and early 2000s, had a significant moment around the time of their live performance at The Masquerade in Atlanta on August 14, 2016. This show was part of the Wrecking Ball Festival and came shortly after the band had reunited in 2011, marking a return to the music scene after a lengthy hiatus. Before this performance, they released "Wood/Water" in 2002, which showcased their evolution in sound, incorporating more melodic elements while retaining their emotional core. Interestingly, "Red & Blue Jeans," the track performed in the video, is from their acclaimed 1997 album "Nothing Feels Good," which helped define their early sound.
