Mother Love Bone

On May 4, 1989, Mother Love Bone delivered an electrifying live performance of Queen's "I’m in Love With My Car" at the Oz Nightclub in Seattle. This recording came just a few months after the release of their debut album, "Apple," which hit the shelves in July 1990. The band was riding high on the coattails of their burgeoning popularity, marked by a sound that brilliantly fused glam rock and grunge. Interestingly, this performance reflects the band's intent to celebrate rock heritage, as they took on a classic track originally sung by Queen's drummer, Roger Taylor. At this point in their career, Mother Love Bone was making significant waves in the Seattle music scene, paving the way for the grunge explosion that would follow. Unfortunately, the band's journey came to a tragic halt shortly after, making this live recording a powerful testament to their brief but vibrant existence.
