In July 1994, when Mazzy Star performed "Fade Into You" live on "Later.......with Jools Holland," the band was experiencing significant acclaim following the release of their acclaimed second album, "So Tonight That I Might See," which came out in 1993. This album featured the hit single "Fade Into You," which ultimately became their most recognized song and contributed to their distinctive dreamy sound that merged elements of folk and psychedelic rock. The performance was notable for capturing the ethereal presence of lead singer Hope Sandoval, whose haunting vocals complemented the band’s atmospheric instrumentals.
