Big Thief

On September 13, 2017, Big Thief delivered an intimate performance at Gateway City Arts in Holyoke, MA, right in the heart of their rising career. By this point, they'd just released their acclaimed debut album, "Masterpiece," in 2016, which had garnered significant attention for its raw, emotional storytelling and unique sound. This live set, however, took on a special charm with guitarist Buck Meek absent, allowing frontwoman Adrianne Lenker’s haunting vocals to shine even brighter. Their simplicity and authenticity in this performance echoed the themes of vulnerability found in their music. It’s fascinating to see how early in their journey, they managed to captivate audiences with their distinctive blend of folk, rock, and intimate storytelling.
