Big Thief

At the time of their NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert on August 29, 2016, Big Thief was riding high on the waves of their debut album, 'Masterpiece,' released just a few months earlier in May. This album showcased their jangly melodies and poignant lyrics, quickly earning them a reputation in the indie rock scene. Interestingly, 'Masterpiece' was partly inspired by lead singer Adrianne Lenker's life experiences, making their performance deeply personal and raw. This concert not only highlighted Lenker's stunning voice but also the intense musicianship of the band, including Buck Meek's guitar work that added a layer of depth to their sound. 'Masterpiece' set the stage for future projects, solidifying Big Thief's unique blend of emotion and energy, which they deliver with unyielding passion in their live performances.
